Allison W. Lynch - Chief Operating Officer

Allison Lynch joined Skin Pathology Associates in February 2007 and currently serves as Chief Operating Officer. She is responsible for leading the day-to-day operations of the lab, client services, business development and marketing functions. Allison has been involved in the healthcare industry for over 12 years, earning her undergraduate degree from Auburn University and her master's from the University of Alabama - Birmingham in Health Administration.

She is a member of the Medical Management Group, as well as the American College of Healthcare Executives.

Isaac Mixon - Director of Information Technology

Isaac has worked in various information technology management roles in Birmingham, Alabama, since 2000. Having spent several years in banking and marketing IT, Isaac realized a career goal of applying his skill set to healthcare when he joined Skin Pathology Associates in 2010. Isaac prides himself on customer service and assisting clients in leveraging Electronic Medical Record (EMR) technology to streamline operations and patient services 

Anita Pilato - Director of Client Services

Anita grew up in Birmingham, Alabama and began her professional career working as an administrative assistant and medical transcriptionist. She joined Skin Pathology Associates in 1995 where she has been very active in client services, culminating in her being selected as Director of Client Services. Anita is a graduate of Jacksonville State University.

Melissa Richard - Client Services Representative

Melissa joined the Skin Pathology team in October of 2014. After relocating from New Orleans, Louisiana, to Alabama, Melissa became a part of the Client Services Department within the Skin Pathology family. Having a customer service background, Melissa is pleased to have the opportunity to assist and provide support to all of our clients on a daily basis.

Stephanie Higgins - Director of Billing

Stephanie has been a loyal employee here at Skin Pathology since 2006. Stephanie came to Skin Pathology from Healthspring of Alabama, where her knowledge in the medical insurance field, as well as HIPAA, were obtained.

Brandi Melton - Senior Billing Representative

Brandi joined Skin Pathology in 1996 as a billing representative. In her current role of insurance specialist, she maintains a close relationship with our clients and their patients, assisting them with their insurance billing needs.

Rose Burns - Laboratory Supervisor

Rose Burns has been a registered histologist with the American Society of Clinical Pathology since 1970. Having trained at South Highlands Hospital School of Histology, Rose has practiced in her field in both the private and public sector. With her first love being dermatopathology, Rose helped to establish Skin Pathology’s lab and was named Co-Supervisor of Histology in 1995. It is a job and role that she still enjoys to date.  

Brenda Tyson - Laboratory Supervisor

Brenda Tyson is a native of Birmingham, Alabama. Having completed her degree in 1968 in Histology from the School of Allied Health, UAB, Brenda did further training at the Veterans Administration Hospital. She has been a registered histologist with the American Society of Clinical Pathology since 1969. Brenda started working with Drs. Jones and Elder, founders of Skin Pathology, to establish the laboratory. Shortly after Skin Pathology’s establishment, she was named Co-Supervisor of Histology, which is a role that she still enjoys today. 

Mary Bishop - Controller

A native of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, Mary joined Skin Pathology’s team in 2014. She earned her Bachelor of Science in accounting from The University of Alabama at Birmingham, and has been active in accounting and human resources since 2000.  

Marcia Miller - Director of Transcription

Marcia has worked in several areas of the medical field since 1973, which include Pathology, Radiology, and Hospital Corporate and held management positions in all of these areas. She studied finance and business management at Jacksonville State University and obtained her degree at The University of Alabama in Birmingham. She joined Skin Pathology in 1996.
